Blind dog available for adoption-New Orleans Area

Hi all,

My Lab does not like my blind dog and we need a new home for her. Binny appears to be part Catahoula. She's about 55 pounds and kinda tall. She has one brown eye and one blue eye, colored brown and white. She was born with a retina problem and can see peripherally but not directly in front of her. She is completely housebroken. Her favorite thing to do is put her paws on your shoulders, which I know I shouldn't have allowed, but I spoiled her because of her blindness. She is not a barking or chewing problem, though she does like to dig shallow holes in the yard when she is bored. She walks well on a leash for a blind dog; she sort of weaves but does not pull. She does not do well alone in the house, as she knocks things over because she can't see. She is happy outside but loves attention and checks you out by pressing her nose against you. She does not lick. She does not dig under the fence, but if your other dog does, she will follow him out. She is heartworm negative and current on her shots and flea protection.

She is currently housed at Zeus Place in uptown New Orleans on Freret Street. The person to speak to is Michelle Ingram, and she can be reached at 504 231 7865. Michelle runs a beautiful program which has found homes for many homeless dogs. You can check out Binny at her website, www.zeusplace. com. If you like her and want to go see her, keep your fuel receipt and I will pay for your gas, whether you adopt her or not. Just be sure to give your name to Michelle so I'll know who it was who visited her.

Thanks for your consideration.

Mary Stagg
